Overview
Currently, there is no direct method for merging two companies in the system. We will update this functionality as we introduce new features. For now, please refer to the examples below to preserve the historical data on how to merge two companies. Use Time Travel to view periods of when the companies were separate or merged.
Company A and B merge to form Company C
Example
Company Z is the parent company of A & B. Company Z can be replaced with a Person.
Company A and B merge to form Company C. As a result, Company A and B no longer exist.
- Add natural sentence: The current parent company (Company Z) transferred its full ownership (100%) of Company A & Company B to Company C, effective as of [date]. (screenshot below)
- The new chart shows that Company C owns Company A & B (screenshot below)
- Add natural sentence: To "dissolve" Company A & B, Company A & B sells or transfers its entire ownership (100%) of Company A, with no counterparty involved, effective on the same [date] as the merger. (screenshots below)
- The new chart shows that Company Z and C. Company A & B are no longer visible (screenshot below)
Historical data is retained
- Add last natural sentence: Company Z owns Company C, effective on the same [date] as the merger. (screenshots below)
Company A merges with Company B
Example
John owns Company Z that owns company A & B.
Company A has been merged with another company, Company B. As a result of the merger, Company A no longer exists, and Company B serves as its legal successor.
- Add natural sentence: The current parent company (Company Z) transferred its full ownership (100%) of Company A to Company B, effective as of [date]. (screenshot below)
- The new chart shows that the parent company owns Company B which owns Company A (screenshot below)
- Add natural sentence: To "dissolve" Company A, Company B sells or transfers its entire ownership (100%) of Company A, with no counterparty involved, effective on the same [date] as the merger.
- The final chart will indicate that the parent company (Company Z) owns Company B, and Company A is no longer visible.
