Viewing Multiple Ownership Paths - Replicas

Overview

In a complex structure, a single entity (like a person or a legal entity) may hold ownership through multiple, separate paths. By default, the Structure Chart might consolidate these into a single card, which can obscure the full legal or financial complexity.

Enabling "Show entities duplicated" ensures that the entity's card is displayed for every unique ownership path it is involved in. This makes each direct and indirect relationship transparent and easy to trace.

Example

Consider an example within your ORCA Structure Chart where the entity "Peter Meyer" has two distinct roles in the ownership of the target asset, "Fintech Fund":

  • Path 1 (Direct): Peter directly owns 15.3% of Fintech Fund
  • Path 2 (Indirect): Peter owns 17% of "Blue River Capital Venture," which in turn owns 79.6% of Fintech Fund.

With "Show entities duplicated" enabled:

The ORCA Structure Chart will display two separate cards for Peter Meyer:

  • One card shows the direct link between Peter and the Fintech Fund
  • A second card shows the link between Peter and Blue River (which then connects to Fintech Fund).

This duplication allows analysts to immediately distinguish between direct legal ownership and indirect/beneficial ownership structures.

How to Activate Entity Duplication

To enable this feature and clearly visualize all unique ownership paths:

  1. Navigate to the Structure Chart view for the structure you wish to analyze in ORCA.
  1. Locate and click the "Global Structure Settings" menu near the bottom right of the chart area.
  1. In the configuration panel that appears, scroll to the section titled "Content visibility" (or similar display options).
  1. Find the option: Show entities duplicated
  1. Click the toggle switch or check the box to activate this setting.

The Structure Chart will instantly refresh, and any entities involved in multiple unique ownership chains will now be displayed with a separate card for each path.
