How to file BOIR

Page 1 - Information about the BOIR
This page shows you how you can fill out the BOIR online or via PDF.
Access https://boiefiling.fincen.gov/fileboir to start the process.
Page 2 - Filing Information
There are 4 types of filings:
- Initial report: This must be filed within the timeline specified based on your business's formation or registration date.
- Corrected report: If you find any mistakes in a previously filed report, you need to submit a corrected report as soon as you discover the error. Details regarding Corrected report found on FinCEN Website
- Updated report: If there are any changes to your business or its beneficial owner's information, you must file an updated report within 30 days of the change. Details regarding Updated report found on FinCEN Website
- Exempt report: If a business becomes exempt, FinCEN also needs to be informed. Details regarding Exempt report found on FinCEN Website
Page 3 - Add Reporting Company Information
On this step, the information on the Reporting Company is displayed exactly how it is required to be reported to FinCEN.

Page 4 - Add Company Applicants
A company applicant is an individual who directly files or is primarily responsible for the filing of the document that creates or registers the company. In this section, you are required to add the information of the Company Applicants (up to 2).
Page 5 - Add Beneficial Owner Information
Here, we'll demonstrate where to input Persons' details in ORCA to correspond with Page 5 in the ORCA platform. Please refer to our Knowledge Center Article to understand how your ORCA data regarding the Beneficial Owner aligns with the BOI Report.
Page 6 - Upload Certificate of Submission and BOI report
After submitting your BOI Report, upload the confirmation certificate for ORCA to file it on your behalf.
