Admin: Roles & Permissions

Overview

ORCA knows different roles when it comes to collaboration. Depending on your requirements you can differentiate between Account Owner, Admin, and Member roles. Ensure the need-to-know principle across your vaults.

Account Owner

As an Account Owner, you see all the information and manage everything.

In addition to being an Admin, a Reader, and an Editor, you as an owner have more privileges:

  • create, delete, and edit vaults
  • add and remove any Users (including Admins) from the Account, as well as define to which vaults they can access and their privileges
  • everything else and Admin can do

The account owner can not be removed. Your account only can have one owner.

Admin

As an Admin, you see all the information and manage everything.

In addition to being a Reader, and an Editor, you as an owner have more privileges:

  • create, delete, and edit vaults
  • add and remove any Users from the Account, as well as define to which vaults they can access and their privileges
  • cannot delete the account owner
  • enable certain functionalities, like “Upload via Email”

The account owner can remove the admin, and can also invite multiple admins.

Member

Editor

By inviting an editor into a vault, you will not only be sharing all the information within it but also enabling them to manage your sensitive information.

An Editor User can see and manage all the information within the Vault they have access to. They can:

  • create, delete, and edit all the information about contacts, assets, and files and their details
  • create, delete, and edit all the ownership relations and any trade information
  • create, delete, and edit all the links between the items
  • create, delete, and edit any task-related information
  • download and export information
  • see all the Users within the Vault

An Editor User CAN NOT invite nor manage other Users. Only the Account Owner and Admin can.

The Editor privilege is defined per Vault. A User can be a Reader in one Vault and an Editor in another Vault.

Reader

By inviting a Reader into a Vault, you will be sharing all the information within it and leveraging all the visuals and structure ORCA enables.

A Reader User can see all the information within the Vault they have access to.

They can:

  • see all the information about contacts, assets, and files and their details
  • see all the ownership relations and any trade information
  • see all the links between the items
  • download and export information
  • see all the Users within the Vault

A Reader User CAN NOT create, delete, or edit any of the information nor invite/manage Users.

The Reader privilege is defined per Vault. A User can be a Reader in one Vault and an Editor in another Vault.
